Regarding the Format of the Congress!
The Congress will be held in a hybrid form unless and until further notice required by geo-political or hygienic circumstances.
Advisory: The decision to attend the hybrid congress in person is a strictly personal decision. You can participate in the congress fully whether you attend online or in-person. Neither the Georgian Organizers nor the ICLA will be responsible for financial or other losses associated with changes or other problems in connection with travel and hotel accommodations. At the very least, participants should consider the possibility of making refundable flight and hotel reservations, since we cannot know for sure what the future holds.
Currently: We also want to inform you that today the political situation in Georgia is stable. Regulations due to the Pandemic are completely cancelled for today in Georgia.

Dear Colleagues!
Welcome to the XXIII ICLA Congress!
After Seoul (2010), Paris (2013), Vienna (2016), Macau (2019), the ICLA will, for the first time, hold its triennial Congress in Caucasia, at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. The ICLA’s regular Congresses allow all comparatists in the world, working in many fields of Comparative Literature and from different perspectives, to get together, interact and exchange ideas.
The 2022 Tbilisi Congress makes a special effort to include early-career scholars with special sessions, academic and social events intended for them, as well as some new grants and prizes… see the dedicated page!
The sessions and special sessions of the Congress cover a wide range of topics, allowing us to move the discussion of the problematic issues of contemporary world writing into a broader international context.
We are looking forward to experiencing this amazing scientific and cultural adventure with you!
We are ready to enjoy the academic process of the Congress and exciting social events in your company!
We do hope that unique nature and sights of Georgia, as well as delicious Georgian cuisine will make it more attractive!
Welcome!
